This practical course will focus on creating Podcasts using intuitive and child centred program called Podium from Softease. Podcasting can be used by both teachers and pupils anybody with a microphone; a computer and an Internet connection publish audio broadcasts that can be listened to by people anywhere in the world.
We will introduce how to create a simple Podcast using pre recorded sound from windows sound recorder, PDAs, MP3 players etc. We will use ‘script writer’ tool which allows for the change of genre of written and developed texts into broadcast materials and supports the rehearsal and final production of the recording.and also add images to our casts before publishing them. During the session we will identify possible curricular applications and explore the advantages of podcasting as part of a child’s daily educational routine in the classroom, at home, and in the community and for personalised learning.
